12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Dancing Diamonds quilt pattern by PlumEasy Patterns

OK, some might think that this one is a bit bias. But it’s my blog 🙂

If you have an addiction to beautiful fabrics and have tons stashed in your house, this is the best pattern to showcase them all!  You don’t even have to use much of each. In fact a 1″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″ strip is all you need of each piece.

I wrote this pattern trying to make my dream quilt.  PlumEasy Patterns believed in my project and helped me create a template to sew my quilt with ease.  And the rest is history as we say!

So like and share this post with all your friends who are wondering what you are going to do with all your stash!  Don’t forget to leave a comment below so that I can keep track cause come December 25th, I will be randomly selected one lucky winner who will receive a copy of my pattern as my Christmas gift to you!

Please share from my blog on your favorite Social Media!

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

There are so many things I love about Victoria!  Of course she makes beautiful quilts but she is so much more!  She is very active with the Quilt Alliance, writes inspirational blogs and holds a Hats & Gloves drive for kids in NYC… that’s just to name a few things.  She also got me to do some soul searching every January to find the key word for my year and turn it into a quilt!

And she has so many gift ideas to choose from:  I would love the Star Storm Quilt AND her new Aurifil thread collection.

If you have many Jelly rolls laying on your shelves collecting dust: This is the absolute best present you can ask for!

Marti has been in the quilting industry for over 40 years and is always finding ways to keep right on track with what we need!  We all love to get the 2 1/2″ strips from our favorite fabric collection but sewing strips together can become a bit boring.  These 3 templates will help you create more intricate designs.

Sharyn Cole
12 Designers of Christmas

I have to admit that this was on my list of projects to make since Spring but had to delay due to my health problems.  But I plan on making one next year! Sharyn is the original Tuffet lady!

You can order the pattern with the foundation pattern only or get a complete kit so that you don’t have to run around to find the foam, feet and all the other little things you need to make a fabulous tuffet.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

I spoke of the Free-Motion Quilting Workbook yesterday but I have to say that I used it with THIS BOOK!  I love how Christina explained free-motion quilting in this book and it has helped many of my students.

So if you plan on adding Learning free-motion quilting to your list of things to do in 2017: you need this book under the Christmas tree.

6-sew-kind-of-wonderful

I met these ladies over a year ago and was really impressed by their beautiful quilts and the fact that they are three sisters and a mom working together!  Their demos really convinced me that their rulers make curve piecing easy.  But the fact that they are working together in designing, quilting and creating patterns!  WOW! AWESOME!

I came back home and told my mom and sister how I was inspired by these ladies… they both looked at me and said: “You won’t get us quilting!”… Yap… my family really doesn’t get it!

But I digress, Sew Kind of Wonderful‘s rulers and patterns are absolute must haves for Christmas.  I have mine already picked out and will be my holiday treat!  I plan on making a table runner during my free time.

To find out more about  Deborah Miller, you can read my Meet the Designer article in Quilter’s World Spring 2016 issue.

I feel so blessed to count her as a friend.  Deborah has developed lots of patterns that are very easy to make.  SERIOUSLY!  They come with templates that guide you along every stitch.  Thanks to her, I can make a hot pad in less than 15 minutes.  My personal favorite is the Hot Pad Table Runner and my project is nicely featured on my ironing board which I use as a side table when writing my blogs.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Amanda on several occasions and she is very passionate about her work.  She has written several books and designed many wonderful fabric collections with Benartex Fabrics.

So you can choose to ask for a fat quarter bundle of her latest sewing room fabric collection or her latest book to help you improve your quilting.  But the MUST HAVE item is surely the Free-Motion Quilting Idea App by C&T Publishing.

2-debbie-kemball

To find out more about  Deborah Kemball, you can read my Meet the Designer article in Quilter’s World summer 2016 issue.  She is just an awesome and talented person.

Her latest book Euphoria Tapestry Quilt is eye candy! Her work is all needle turning appliqué, but she’s the first to say that many of her students have made beautiful projects using raw edge appliqué.  I have also seen her designs transformed into very modern pillows with minimal quilting.

I love her book and just have to get the new eco tote … Can someone PLEASE tell my sister?
